BHR features industry standard designs and products; launch ramps, fun boxes, 1/4 and 1/2 pipes, spine ramps etc. This spring we are proud to announce a signature line of Portable Steel Ramps (PSR's) designed by Salman Agah. These PSR's will be designed by Salman based on well known and popular skating locations around the country. This alliance will launch a concept totally unique in the Skateboarding industry. A "real life" street course that combines all the best elements and challenges, brought together in one place. Watch for more details upcoming when you visit our site in the upcoming months.

Ten good reasons why a Ball Hitch Ramp should be considered.

1. Does not fall apart over time.
2. Weather resistant- zero maintenance.
3. Does not require large assembly crews or working with many small pieces.
4. Solid construction that does not strain under heavy or abusive use.
5. Seamless and smooth.
6. Setup and tear-down minimums.
7. Custom designs, no one size fits all solution.
8. Compact storage.
9. Easily transportable.
10. Adaptable to a variety of surfaces, asphalt, lawns, dirt, etc.

1. Does not fall apart over time.
If you have ever built and owned a wood ramp you know that nails loosen up, screws back out and wood begins to break down over time. We have built many wood ramps and they are great to ride, but they do wear down. Steel ramps are indestructible and ideal for mobile operations. Ever try to resell an old wood ramp? Simply repaint the steel ramp and it is brought back to day one.

2. Weather resistant- zero maintenance.
Ever have a ramp in the winter? It is usually covered. Every time I cover a ramp it always seems to get wet somewhere. When a wood ramp gets wet (masonite) it usually means waiting a day or two for it to dry out. If you don't wait, the glue in the plywood and masonite begin to breakdown and weaken. At that point, the edges to the masonite begin to flake along with the friends you were counting on to replace the masonite. Just go with steel and forget about it. Let it rain, snow and hail as long as it wants to. Since steel does not absorb water, it dries quick, especially if you have a towel to wipe it down. If you have a street course item, you will have to wait until the asphalt/cement is dry.

3. Does not require large assembly crews or working with many small pieces.
If you like to do demos with wood ramps you sometimes have the challenge of assembling the larger stuff and maintaining the smoothness of the top surface. Sometimes people will re-skin a halfpipe after assembling the structure. I don't mind pulling up to a spot with my truck and unhitching a PSR (portable steel ramp) only to have it ready to ride within 15 minutes (for most PSR's) using 1 or 2 guys.

4. Solid construction that does not strain under heavy or abusive use.
Most decent wood ramps are solid as well. But there are some ramps that wear over time only to become splinter filled ghetto boxes starting to lean. Fat Albert can jump on a PSR all day everyday until he is an old man and it won't phase our ramps.

5. Seamless and smooth.
Since the surface of our ramps are steel that has been welded from underneath with no screws at all, we achieve perfectly smooth riding. The surface sheets for all radius's/transitions are pre-bent by huge rollers resulting in a smoooooth transition.

6. Setup and tear-down minimums. We try to design every ramp with as few detachable pieces as possible. As a result, most of our PSR's fold out by hand or hydraulic arms and are ready to ride in minutes.

7. Custom designs, no "one size fits all" solution. Many people have different ideas about what they want to ride. Why should we decide for you. Since buying a PSR from BHR is an investment, it ought to be something that you really enjoy. If you aren't sure what you want, we have a professional design team of engineers and pro skaters waiting to help.

8. Compact storage.
I have some wood ramps right now that are being stored in a fenced church parking lot. What a pain! Our PSR's are simply folded up and parked in a parking space with a lock on the ball hitch receiver.

9. Easily transportable.
Designed to conform to the Department of Transportation's regulations for all moving vehicles, all our PSR's are easy to store it in parking spaces, driveways and warehouses. Our street course ramps fit inside normal residential garages, ideal security for the neighborhood set up.

10. Adaptable to a variety of surfaces, asphalt, lawns, dirt, etc.
Obviously street course ramps need to be on hard smooth surfaces. However, our mini halfpipe has been set up on asphalt, cement, dirt, freshly plowed dirt, gravel and lawns. By supporting our PSR's with various materials under it's feet we can set up anywhere. These 10 points are a result of our experiences. Ron Powers (associate manager of Ball Hitch Ramps)
